This may seem a little too soon to begin dental care for a kid, but it is the most crucial time to intervene as the goal is early prevention of tooth decay.
Fluorides help in making the outer layer of the tooth (enamel) tougher and stronger by the process of remineralization, thus making it resistant to cavities.

Fluoride varnish application
Recent studies strongly suggest that the use of fluoride varnish applications reduces the occurrence of cavities by 50–60%. We suggest fluoride varnish applications every 6 months to all children with moderate to high risk of dental caries.

Dental Sealant application
Dental sealants consist of a thin plastic material that is placed on the chewing surface of the permanent back teeth — the molars and premolars to help protect them from bacteria and acids that contribute to tooth decay. When cavity-causing bacteria in our mouth meet the food particles, they produce acids that can create cavities. Dental Sealants stop bacteria and acid from settling on your kids’ teeth. Dental sealants have been shown to reduce the risk of decay by nearly 60- 80%. Your kids’ first molars appear around age 6, and second molars break through around age 12. Sealing these teeth as soon as they come through can keep them cavity-free from the start.
